Weiyao Lin received the B.E. and M.E. degrees from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, in 2003 and 2005, and the Ph.D degree from the University of Washington, Seattle, USA, in 2010, all in electrical engineering. He worked an research interns at Motorola Labs, RealNetworks Labs, and Thomson Techonology Las during 2006-2010, respectively. He is currently an Professor with the Department of Electronic Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. His research interests include computer vision, artificial intelligence, video compression & coding, and image/video processing applications.

Dr. Lin has authored or coauthored 100+ technical papers including 20+ IEEE Transactions papers and 10+ top conference papers including CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, AAAI, and MM. He also holds 18 patents (including 3 US patents). Dr. Lin served as an associate editor for 6 SCI-indexed journals including IEEE Trans. Circuits and Systems for Video Technology, IEEE Trans. Intelligent Transportation Systems, Journal of Visual Communication and Image Representation, Signal Processing: Image Communication, Circuits Systems and Signal Processing, and IEEE Access. He is an organizing committee chair of ICIG'2017, an organizor of Youtube-VOS challenge in conjunction with ECCV 2018, a workshop chair of the EMSA workshop in conjunction with ICME'2013, and an organizer of the BSDA workshop in conjunction with BigMM'2015.

Dr. Lin is a senior member of IEEE, a committee member of IEEE MSA TC, VSPC TC, and MMTC. He received ICME outstanding area chair award in 2018, Microsoft best demo award of the year in 2017, IEEE Access best AE award of the month in 2017, Pujiang Best Scholar Award in 2013, and ACM Shanghai Rising Star Award Nomination in 2015.
