Brief Biography

I am an Assistant Researcher & Post Doctoral Researcher in Department of Electronic Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), Shanghai, China. Now, I am working in the Image, Video, and Multimedia Communications (IVM) Laboratory headed by Prof. Hongkai Xiong.

I received the B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electronic Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China, in 2007, 2009 and 2015, respectively.

My research interests are in the area of multimedia communication and optimization, which, in particular, include network oriented image/video processing and communication, and network based optimization for video sources. With over six years of research experience, I have pbulished more than ten journal/conference papers on these topics.

Research

My research is in the area of multimedia communication and optimization, which focuses on video coding and processing technique at the source side, as well as communication related technique within a specific network, and thus investigate the combination of both in a feasible and efficient way. My current research topics inclue:

  • The application of distributed robust optimization in wired and wireless video transmission
  • Compressive sensing based networked video transmission

My previous research was mainly supported by the State Key Program of National Natural Science Foundation of China (with the name: Fundamental theory and experiment platform of adaptive networked video transmission), and the related topics are:

  • Optimal trading off between network lifetime and video quality for distributed video sources in
    wireless visual sensor networks
  • Multi-rate multicasting for scalable video coding stream over hybrid wired/wireless networks

Personal

My personal interests iclude travelling and sports, within which two specific types of sports are paid more attention to:

Badminton

I play badminton very often in myleisure time, as a member of senior badminton club of my university. In addition, representing my school, I played in many competetions of SJTU with good results.

 

Tennis

The graceful charm but fierece competion of tennis games deeply attracts me, which is also the reason for my fancy for watching tennis games. With honor, I served as a court service volunteer in 2008 Shanghai Tennis Master Cup, and as a supervisor of the same division in 2009 Shanghai ATP master 1000, and further became the court service director in the tournament of 2010.
